About the job
As the Director of Carbon Reduction Strategy, you will be a part of the Google Climate Operations team that works cross-functionally across global operations and supply chains to develop and scale solutions on energy and carbon.

This team works cross-functionally to define and coordinate Net Zero strategy, develop, and scale new solutions that accelerate decarbonization and serve as a point of technical coordination across Google on clean energy and carbon. The carbon reduction efforts across our operations and value chain require detailed planning and coordination across multiple groups and activities across Google.

In this role, you will be responsible for working with teams to develop the company wide carbon reduction roadmap. You will manage a team of subject-matter experts and program managers in charge of planning processes and cross-functional execution across Google.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $240,000-$353,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate cross-company efforts and teams, ensure alignment and support at the leadership levels and across Google, and identify and lead prioritization and escalation discussions.
Establish and maintain internal cross-functional partnerships, governance structures, and processes to scale operations towards goals.
Manage a team of subject-matter experts that develop and coordinate scope, reduction strategies, and day-to-day resources.
Serve as an advisor to sustainability leadership, and inform external advocacy and standards roadmap to enable Google to meet its reduction goal.
Oversee and provide leadership support for roadmap and planning efforts, carbon reduction, programs, and teams. Develop forecasting and scenario analyses to support strategy and roadmap.

Profil

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, materials science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
15 years of experience in clean energy, climate change, or corporate sustainability.
Experience in people management and scaling activities from early-stage to company-wide operations.
Experience building sustainability strategies based on data and corporations, and delivering execution-oriented results.

Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree in business administration, economics, finance, sustainability, environmental science, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience influencing and collaborating across organizations to drive programs.
Experience driving results through resourceful collaboration across groups.
Knowledge of corporate clean energy procurement practices and implications.
Ability to lead consensus, find compromises between uncertainty, and take action.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
