About Global Citizen:
Since its inception, Global Citizen has leveraged the power of artists, governments, corporations, philanthropists, and civil society to achieve to achieve policy change, to end extreme poverty and fight climate change. In the last decade, Global Citizen has mobilised $48.4B USD towards this goal as well as policy commitments. Of this, over $22.6B USD has already been disbursed, impacting the lives of more than 880M people.
Since two years, Global Citizen is undertaking coordinated advocacy and campaigning, seeking to mobilise new resources and policy commitments in line with three priority areas:
Disrupting Systems to end the current and prepare better for future pandemics; to ensure an equitable recovery everywhere and to provide long-term financing for sustainable development.
Taking Action on Climate and Hunger, including mobilising climate financing and ensuring progress to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees.
Empowering Adolescent Girls, especially through investments in health and education.
Citizen-led advocacy is crucial to achieving the above, and Global Citizen also aims to support the protection of civic space, in close partnership with local activists.
To achieve outcomes, Global Citizen works with key governments, international organisations, the private sector and other strategic actors and leverages specific tent pole moments, including the annual festival or G7 or G20 events. This year, our main campaign is ‘Power Our Planet’, advocating for a thorough reform of the international financial system, to mobilize the funding needed to end extreme poverty and fight climate change especially in the poorest and most vulnerable countries.

Deliverables & Responsibilities
This role is One-Year, Full-Time Temporary Role (Parental Leave Cover) through August 2024.
Lead the delivery of a government relations and advocacy strategy for Germany in line with Global Citizen’s global and European strategy, in particular to advocate for the reform of the financial system and increased climate and development action;
Lead the delivery of key activities that form part of the strategy, including preparation policy and advocacy materials & events in Germany and if needed elsewhere;
Lead relationships with key political stakeholders, including MPs and government officials;
Secure participation of the German government (at least ministerial level) in 2023 events and platforms such as the GC Festival;
Monitor political development and legislation processes in Germany;
Represent Global Citizen on key coalitions and manage relationships with key NGOs, stakeholders, and thought leaders;
Implement and report on grant deliverables in Germany;
Provide strategic advice and insight to support the delivery of public-facing campaigns;
Contribute to the G7, G20 and EU policy and advocacy work of Global Citizen;
Work closely with the campaigns and marketing team on their strategies for Germany and support drafting digital actions to mobilise Global Citizens in Germany;
Support policy and advocacy work in other markets if needed.

Umsetzung von Schlüsselaktivitäten, die Teil der Strategie sind, einschließlich der Vorbereitung von Politik- und Advocacy-Materialien und Veranstaltungen;

Repräsentation von Global Citizen in Koalitionen und Pflege der Beziehungen zu NGOs, Interessengruppen und Partner*innen;
Umsetzung und Reporting der Grant Deliverables in Deutschland;
Strategische Beratung zur Unterstützung der Durchführung von öffentlichkeitswirksamen Kampagnen;
Enge Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kampagnen- und Marketingteam bei der Entwicklung von Strategien für Deutschland und Unterstützung bei der Ausarbeitung digitaler Maßnahmen zur Mobilisierung von Global Citizens in Deutschland;
Mitarbeit an der politischen Arbeit zu G7, G20 und der Advocacy in der EU;
Bei Bedarf Unterstützung der Advocacyarbeit in anderen Märkten.
Profil
Required Skills and Experience
5+ years of experience that includes Policy and Government relations in Germany or Europe;
Very good knowledge of the German and European political landscape;
Demonstrated ability to build stakeholder relationships and leverage them;
Very good policy expertise in development and/ or climate policy, in particular on development and/ or climate finance;
Experience developing campaigns from concept through execution;
Excellent writing and communication skills in German and English; fluency in Spanish or another European language is an advantage;
Ability to work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines and stay organised; self starter;
Collaborative style and strong work ethic;
Experience working in a dynamic team environment;
Experience in coordinating with multiple teams across multiple partnerships;
Able to facilitate strategic and tactical decision-making on a day-to-day basis.
Du hast:
Mindestens 5 Jahre Berufserfahrung im Bereich Politik und Regierungsbeziehungen in Deutschland oder Europa;
Sehr gute Kenntnisse der deutschen und europäischen politischen Landschaft;
Nachgewiesene Fähigkeit, Beziehungen zu Interessengruppen aufzubauen;
Sehr gute politische Expertise in der Entwicklungs- und/oder Klimapolitik, insbesondere in der Entwicklungs- und/oder Klimafinanzierung;
Erfahrung in der Entwicklung von Kampagnen vom Konzept bis zur Durchführung;
Ausgezeichnete Schreib- und Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in Deutsch und Englisch; fließende Kenntnisse in Spanisch oder einer anderen europäischen Sprache sind von Vorteil;
Ausgeprägte Teamfähigkeit, fähig in einem stark dynamischen Team eng zusammenzuarbeiten
Erfahrung in der interdisziplinären Arbeit sowie Zusammenarbeit mit externen Partnern
Kreativ und proaktiv
